There are 4 different type of polo, Snow Polo, Grass Polo, Arena Polo and Beach Polo.
Grass polo is the typical sport we all know. The common field, rules and everything.
But, what about the rest?
Well, snow polo, originated in Europe, has the same rules and the exact same court size as the regular polo, the main differences are that, instead of grass they play in ice surfaces, typically frozen lakes. The ball is slightly bigger and colored to make it visible and also, the horses have special grips on their feet to help them move on ice and improve the safety of everyone involve.
The beach polo was invented in Dubai, it has a field surfaces covered in sand, very similar to the arena polo, but in this sport the court doesn’t have edges, so there are no out of bounds and the ball is in play all the time.
And last, the arena polo, a mini version of beach polo. The main difference is that the field is much smaller and all closed with walls. It can be played outdoors and indoors.
Enjoy them all!
